Doctor Tannis Rand was a celebrated geneticist who harbored a dark secret – he is actually the last descendant of a family of werewolves: the Cult of the Crimson Moon. Searching for a cure to his curse, Doctor Rand discovered traces in his genome of an ancient, more primal version of werewolf. His research became an obsession, as he attempted to recreate what he dubbed “The Kiloworg.”
After repeated failures, Doctor Rand was visited by the Forgotten King, who offered him a deal – in return for the secret of the first lycanthrope, Doctor Rand would create an army of werewolves to destroy Dracula. Doctor Rand agreed and was given the “Salve of the Beast,” allowing him to complete the genome and bring the Kiloworg back into the world.
Doctor Rand’s own werewolf form is strong, fast, and possesses superior senses that might be keener than a vampire’s. But the thing that makes him the most dangerous is his brilliant mind. Doctor Rand is resourceful and capable of planning several moves ahead. Though he can probably be killed by silver, he should not, under any circumstances, be underestimated.
